Isaiah Pead, RB Cincinnati Scouting Report

Isaiah Pead, RB Cincinnati [HT- 5’10 WT- 197 4.47 40 time]

Positives- Isaiah has a well built frame and possess a strong upper and lower body…He makes strong, quick moves up the middle, displaying Above Average field vision, and having enough lateral quickness to bounce to the outside edge…He has Above Average speed and better top speed when he attacks the edge/is in the open field…He shows an Above Average ability to lower his pad level at contact and will run over and through defenders…He shows solid smaller space speed/burst and elusiveness…He displays the ability to be a 3-down back, as he shows an all around good to Above Average blocking ability/technique and knows how to find and pickup the blitzer…To pair his blocking ability, Isaiah flashes Above Average hands, where he can a full route tree, and can/will make the catch in traffic…He also has ability to play Special Teams as a Return Man.

Negatives- Isaiah shows inconsistent running technique and will not square up before he hits the line, making him a bigger and unprotected target (upright running) and easier to take down…He isn’t the most patient of backs in this class and he will break off from his run(s) to try to hit the edge, rather than wait for the inside lane to open up…He needs to show he is comfortable running up the middle (due to the previous statement) and show a strong willingness to do so to be considered a top back.
