Kirk Cousins, QB
Michigan State [HT-6’3 WT-214 4.93 40 time]
Positives- Kirk
has a well built frame, good size, and good mass…He is an underrated rated
athlete who can move in the pocket and elude defenders better than most give
him credit for (Good Pocket Awareness)…He has Above Average accuracy on his
short to intermediate routes…He possess only Average Arm Strength but can throw
with high velocity and on the Receiver within
20 yards…He has High Football IQ, and knows how to read defenses pre-snap
(and film room) and can find the weak spots…He can read and adjust for the
Blitz, and can change the play pre-snap…He can lead and throw the Receiver open…Has
an advantage as he has played in the pro-style offense and shows he is
comfortable both under center and in Shotgun.
Negatives- Kirk
shows difficulty throwing the deep pass, as he shows he doesn’t the strength to
consistently throw it downfield...This inconsistency will lead to both floated
and underthrown passes, which are easily broken up or outran by the Receiver/Defensive
Back…He hasn’t shown a consistent tight spiral or high velocity, leads to
inconsistency in tight windows…He struggles to set his feet on a pass by pass
basis…Lastly, gets nervous by phantom pressure and gets happy feet.
