Dwayne Allen, TE Clemson Scouting Report

Dwayne Allen, TE Clemson [HT-6’4 WT-255 4.75 projected 40]

Positives-Dwayne is a strong armed Tightend with Above Average speed and Solid hands…He runs routes (rated Above Average) but he is improving every year…Dwayne can, and will play everywhere on the line, including usage as an H-Back…He has a size and speed mismatch against (College) Linebackers…He is capable and willing to go over the middle and also can stretch sideline to sideline…He gets off the line quickly and uses his hands to his advantage, shedding Defenders and can gain separation…He has a solid all around blocking game…He can play in space and stone at the line…Keeps his feet moving and uses his strong arms, hands, and base to move the Defender.

Negatives- Dwayne only possess average footwork and balance…He needs to show aggressive plays more consistently and attack the ball in the air…Needs to display consistent hips and hands in the pass game…He does lack the consistent footwork and hip/knee flexing/bending to be Above Average to Elite in Run Blocking…He gets upright and off balanced on occasion, this causes him to play high and tight, and will get moved off/out of the play.
