Kelechi Osemele, OT/OG Iowa State [HT- 6’5 WT- 350]
Positives- Kelechi has Elite level size, length, and base…He has an NFL level punch off the snap and has Elite level hands/strength to lock onto and a move pass rushers off the line/onto the ground…Doesn’t get overpowered and is a mauling type of Guard transition into the NFL due to his ability to latch onto and move defenders out of the rushing lanes…Quick first move off the snap to get into his base and hands up (long arms rarely allows defenders to get into his frame)…Above Average Football IQ and knows how to call out and recognize the blitzers.
Negatives- Kelechi’s technique, while improving, is keeping him from remaining a Tackle at the next level…He gets his feet mixed up at times if he is forced to get into his stance by elite caliber end rushers and lacks the ability to quickly recover and correct this…He is overaggressive and gets called for more penalties than he should…He does struggle to get his pad level low on certain plays (power rushes) and gives ground up that someone his size and strength level shouldn’t.
