Shaun Prater. CB Iowa [HT- 5’10 WT- 190 4.48projected 40]
Positives- Shaun posses a tall, clean frame, that still has room for him to grow into…He can equally well in both Man and Zone coverage…He is capable of getting a solid punch off on the line and jam the Receiver, but also has the quickness to bail then mirror the Receiver…He has enough speed to stay and mirror the Receiver in stretch/vertical plays…He has Above Average ability to read the Quarterbacks eyes and make a break on the play…Above Average closing speed and excellent footwork and balance…Great jumping ability and can time jumps to get to the high-point…He has a strong upper body and has a solid tackling ability, who takes good angles to get to the ball carrier…He doubles as a Special Teams Gunner and Punt/Kick Retruner.
Negatives- Shaun is a bit smaller on the bottom half and has room to grow and put more mass/muscle both in the lower and upper halves…He can be over powered by long-armed Receivers, also ones with stronger cores/upper bodies…Due to him reading the Quarterback’s eyes, he is manipulated at times…He relies on his range and closing speed when playing off-man and relies on those to make his plays.
