Kellen Moore, QB Boise State Scouting Report

Kellen Moore, QB Boise State [HT- 5’11 WT- 190 4.99 projected 40]

Positives- Kellen has Elite level football IQ and can dissect playbooks and defenses…He shows the ability to have an Above Average short-mid range game and will lead the Receiver to the ball…He has a good ability to scan and read to find the correct target, and doesn’t make a ill-formed pass…He has Above Average to borderline Elite level pocket awareness and can avoid some of the rushes…He has good rhythm and has an uncanny ability to know where his Receivers will be (and the Corners trying to cover them).

Negatives- Kellen is a small Quarterback, both in terms of height and weight…He lacks an NFL sized arm and rarely shows the ability to have a deep ball…Floats most passes over the 15 yard range…He shows limited mobility and a lack of athletic ability to get out of danger and avoid sacks…He has poor footwork and throws a lot of passes off his back foot…He does state down more targets, which shouldn’t happen with all of his reads and ability to find the open guy…Inexperienced under center and will have to show he is able to do so at the next level, and look comfortable while doing so.
